It Is Not Showed.
Have you ever seen this phrase in Japanese "示されている"?
I read a sentence used "示されている" in Japanese, but I felt that it sounded strange sometimes.
I think you need to write in other words like "表示されている/書かれている/出ている" instead of "示されている".
(A) 「エンターキーを押しなさい」とパソコンの画面に示されていました。
(B) （駅で）トイレの場所は、看板に示されています。
(C) (ドラマで) 「ここに彼の靴(くつ)があるということは、彼が犯人であることを表示しています。」
What do you think of these phrases? Are they good?
I think (A) sounds a little strange, (B) is correct and (C) sounds unnatural.
(A) :
I'd write it like this"「エンターキーを押しなさい」とパソコンに表示されていました。"
I wrote "（の）画面" on purpose, because if you write the sentence without "（の）画面", it's correct, but it depends on the context.
It's like the phase is written on the sticker of a PC.
You can also write "パソコンの画面に出ている。".
(C) :
If I read the sentence, I feel the following:
・Someone wrote "he is the suspect " on the shoes.
・The place where those shoes are kept says/indicates/reads that "He is the suspect"..
I'd correct it to "彼が犯人であることを示しています。"
Don't write/say "彼が犯人であると書かれています。" or "彼が犯人であると出ています。" in this case.
